Book Review- Life's Amazing Secrets by Gaur Gopal Das

The review of this book may be partial!

Gaur Gopal Das is a great motivational speaker and lifestyle coach. He is a solution-finder with a pragmatic approach. I like hearing the author's videos, which is why I did not like “enjoy” the reading part of his sermons.

Yet, the book was read!!

The book is written in a conversation mode while navigating through Mumbai's horrendous traffic. Gaur Gopal Das and his wealthy young friend Harry get talking, delving into concepts ranging from the human condition to finding one's purpose in life and the key to lasting happiness. It spoke about experiencing joy and balance and maintaining a spiritual practice while paying attention to our personal lives, relationships, work and social contributions.

Gaur Gopal Das presented his narration regarding balance and purpose in Life through a car analogy. In his view, if life is considered a car and one wants a smooth ride, we require the balance in four tyres, i.e. Personal life, Relationship, Worklife and Social contributions.

The book adds to my journey to learn more profound life concepts
I recommend this book to those looking for a quick self-help read.

Some of my favourite quotes from the book are-

“Anyone can find the dirt in someone. Be the one that finds the gold.”

“Worry never robs tomorrow of its sorrow; it only saps today of its joy.”

“The paradox of our times is that those with the most can often be the least satisfied.”

“Watch your thoughts; they turn into words. Watch your words; they turn into actions. Watch your actions; they turn into habits. Watch your habits; they turn into character. Watch your character; it turns into your destiny.”

“Experience is not what happens to a man; it is what a man does with what happens to him.”

“You can be completely selfish, completely selfless or any combination. Life is a journey from being selfish to becoming selfless.”

Nice review and thanks for sharing the quotes

All are so thought provoking, but the best I personally liked is :

“Watch your thoughts; they turn into words. Watch your words; they turn into actions. Watch your actions; they turn into habits. Watch your habits; they turn into character. Watch your character; it turns into your destiny.”

    So true.
