Wish not granted

Disclaimer- The contents of the post are the outcome of the rigorous search, several readings and experiences, and self-reflection Have you ever had a wish? A desire for which you toiled hard (and smart) day and night? A hope for which you prayed to the almighty with the purest of spirit? And yet, the result was not as you aspired!! Well, it indeed has happened with me… numerous times. In such moments, self-loathe is at its pinnacle. Nothing seems to make sense. There is an interim loss of faith. The suspicion of being a failure. It appears that there is a big conspiracy against me by God!!  However, to my greatest revelation, this greatest failure began to make some sense. Probably because those disappointing times have either spared me from committing the biggest mistakes of my life or have expanded my maturity box. As they say, occasionally, destiny has something else designed. Every choice is an opportunity to get closer to a divine life purpose, especially the choices that we of

Merchant and Parrot (Short Story)

Disclaimer- This is a 900 years old classic anecdote by Rumi. Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet, philosopher, and mystic whose poems have been translated into numerous languages. Many years ago, a Persian merchant was given a beautiful parrot as a gift by his Indian trading collaborators. He kept the parrot in a formidable cage, where he could watch her and listen to her melodious song every day when he lounged after his long hours at the job.   Be true to have strong willpower Disclaimer- This post is majorly a self-contemplation. The personalized meaning derived from the topic vis-Ă -vis life experiences. Some of the content is directly used from the mentioned book. Have you ever felt educated-illiterate?? Well, I Have…not once but several times. And in these moments, commonly, my poor self-confidence displays “quit door” as the only possibility to survive. e.g. My early days of postgraduate (MBA). I was a science student. Since the day I was born (I guess), my "parents-goal" for me was to "become a doctor". Nevertheless, life submitted entirely different options and steered me to the path of doing MBA. I still remember the first class of Finance & Account. The professor was talking about plants (i.e. factories), and all I could imagine was trees. The balance sheet for me implied triviality. The entire class was responding in Profit & Loss and I was at loss inside. Would you comprehend the kind

Malang

In Search ... Disclaimer- The contents of the post are the outcome of the search, several readings and experiences, and majorly self-reflection. ------ Becoming Malang is my ultimate aim for life … I guess . This Malangness might assist me to act with decent perfection in any tiny or huge event, gain every experience to enrich my soul, and yet help me remain unaffected by the consequence. Malang is a Sufi word, otherwise called bairagi in Hindi. So the meaning derived for Malang is the one who lives and experiences the worldly life with every comfort (and discomfort) without getting tied to the result and hence, celebrates supreme freedom during the pilgrimage of life before reaching the absolute goal, called death. I am yet to come together with the 'real'  bairagi . And I am far (precisely Sun-from-Pluto-type far ) from evolving to become the one !! But there are instances when this Malang -moment clicks before me.  Like…The innocent smile on my mother’s face emitting
