Book Review- The Lost Bookshop by Evie Woods

Image
Wow, this book made me fall in love with fiction again. My childlike imagination was indulged in this thick saga. Without revealing the story, I will write this review in the shortest possible version. The Lost Bookshop is a time slip kind-of novel telling two stories separated in time but related through its characters, Martha, Opaline, and Henry. The lost and found Emily Brontë's manuscript was the driving plot. And then there was a missing bookshop, which binded the end beautifully. The book features elements of bibliophilia, magical realism, fantasy, historical fiction, and romance by Irish author Evie Woods. The book also brings up grim real-world issues, including alcoholism, domestic violence, and societal misogyny. In conclusion, The Lost Bookshop is a delightful place for anyone who, like me, appreciates the mention of the Lost Generation, bookstores, and the enchanting era when society, relationships, and literature radiate a special kind of wonder and magic. Dream plus Willpower equals Magical Life

Time to Move towards dream(s) Enlarging the maxima, propelling the known thresholds, and entering the unusual terrain- for me, this is THE DEFINITION OF SELF-GIFT. The biggest gift ever!! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you must be familiar with how this Covid time has realized the primacy of waking up at daybreak. The 5 o'clock schedule has stuck for more than 8 months now. I was still evaluating this emotional victory and was rejoicing in the discipline, I have managed yet another surprise that has left me in boundless exhilaration. My introductory 10 kilometers (10k) run. You may not agree less...if I say... that any self-gift is promptly related to our dream . In my dictionary, there are two types of DREAMS - one “ Marathon-type dreams ”…those huge dreams of fulfilling “this” or achieving “that” and the other “ Sprint-type dreams ” which attract magic into life…like an expedition, doing a workout, reading a favorite book or learning the bike riding, etc. I think that ...

Book review- Brida by Paulo Coelho

Who I Am                                           Image from Internet Disclaimer- This book review is majorly a self-contemplation. The personalized meaning derived from the book vis-Ă -vis life experiences. The quotes are used directly from the book. I read this title from Paulo Coelho in the year 2007. This is one of those novels which retained a peculiar outgrowth of my contemplation scrutinizing life and its very purpose. And I found this book when my life was about to take a 360-degree change. It was during those times when I had to decide the course(in the literal sense) of my life this book became a navigation guide. I had left it to destiny to render me the alternative to begin forward. It was either postgraduate in microbiology or Masters in Business Administration. It does not matter what I opted for, the point is... this book became an anchor to hold me during those...

Be Alpha-type: Become fearless (Advice to my kids)

Disclaimer - This post is part of trait-series-for-kids which I began to search and write for my kids in 2019. With this series of blog posts containing knowledge-slash-experience, I pray from almighty that our kids have simple but a magical life. The contents of the series are the outcome of the rigorous search, several readings and experiences, and self-reflection. Each trait post will end in a mantra to follow.  ------       My dear पुत्र !! ,     I wish I could say that I'm a 100% fearless person, but I'm not. At best, I'm an individual who does some scary things… even though I am terrified while doing them. The most courageous thing I have done to date is… giving birth to two beautiful boys… besides undertaking an open debate competition ( which I never won ), scuba-dived through a wreck 90 feet down ( which I enjoyed ), skydiving, road driving, and tattooing.       In my perception, courage is composed of two things: The abil...
