Book review- Lady, You're the Boss by Apurva Purohit

Apurva Purohit, the President of the Jagran Group, one of India's largest multimedia conglomerates and the author of the book titled "Lady, You're the Boss!” presets a blunt and encouraging account of the modern lives of women (working at home and in office or simply working at home).

And since the book talks directly, without creating a web of any justification or excuses or debating who is better, the writing style in the book is my favourite.

“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.”

The book is relatable to any Indian reader as it uniquely sheds light on the challenges specific to Indian, irrespective of gender. The book is broadly divided into two parts. The first part talks about ‘Lady’ and gives insights into the battles faced and how they deal with the situations. The second part talks about the ‘boss’. The journey of women as a boss, her thoughts and challenges that they face.

The author narrates all her learning experiences crisply and interestingly. Each chapter ends with learning pointers like effective communication, perseverance, prioritising and personal accountability.

Deeply poignant and often hilarious, Lady, You're the Boss! is a woman leader's guide to breaking socially imposed and self-reinforced glass ceilings and growing to her full potential.

A must-read for all working women ( be it at home or outside). It should be compulsorily made to read by male bosses as it will help mentor their organisations' female counterparts.
