Book Review- The Answer Is NO by Fredrik Backman

This book was exactly what I needed right now. I have known Fredrik Backman through his well-known novel "A Man Called Ove " . This is my second read from the author. The third one is on my to-read list.

This quirky tale focuses on a character's everyday life and the tiny, often ridiculous troubles that arise, highlighting the absurdity of human actions and societal norms.

Our protegee, Lucas who is a bit of a grump and a complete loaner, needs just three things for a perfect life: video games, wine, and pad thai with peanuts. Then, one day, the apartment board, a vexing trio of authority, rings his doorbell. And Lucas’s solitude takes a startling hike. They demand to see his frying pan. Someone left one next to the recycling room overnight, and instead of removing the errant object, as Lucas suggests, they insist on finding the guilty party. But their plan backfires. Colossally. And the rest is the story which requires reading!!!

If you're looking for a quick, thought-provoking, and humorous read, "The Answer Is No" is a great choice.

Quotes-

“Being smart is the worst thing one can be in modern society. All it ever means is more work.”

“This is a very provoking thing to the world. Because people aren’t supposed to be happy, they’re only supposed to want to be happy, because how otherwise are you supposed to be able to sell things to them?”

“cruelest form of interpersonal terrorism: small talk.”

“What people really need most of all is a prescription for a break.”

“You can make yourself happy if you don’t let others make you unhappy.”

  2. This is what we all need to read. External triggers control us. We have forgotten what it feels to be complete within.

    1. I understand that external triggers can feel overwhelming and manipulative, and it takes a tremendous amount of inner strength to protect ourselves in those situations. It's completely valid to feel that endurance is required, and it's okay to acknowledge how challenging it can be. You're not alone in this struggle.

Thank you mam for reading & sharing ur viw point
